Overall Score
The PT Cruiser is an awesome car. After having owned two I can say I will always own a PT Cruiser from now on.
The first thing you notice is that you are sitting, like you do in a chair, with your feet down. Not with your legs out. This gives a much better view of the road around you. It is also a lot more comfortable in my opinion.
Secondly is the amazing amount of space and diversity of use you can find for your Cruiser. With fold down back and passenger seats you have plenty of cargo room.
All in all. While other cars may be better in any one category. The PT Cruiser is good at covering all your bases without you adding some idiotic oversized SUV to the dangers of the road.

Issue:
This recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by Vitro Automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones.
Note: This is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Safety Risk:
Glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury.
Corrective Actions:
The company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “DOT 287” along with the lettering “VMR” (Replacement Market) and a date code that is before July 2019. This information is printed on the bottom corner of the glass. Consumers should contact Vitro's customer service at 1-412-995-6457 or argbacklites@vitro.com to arrange for replacement of the glass.

On certain vehicles, the rear quarter glass attaching fasteners may pull through their mounts and allow the glass to separate from the vehicle. If the glass separates while driving, it could strike another vehicle and cause a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the rear quarter glass.

On certain vehicles equipped with a 2.4L non-turbo engine and an automatic transaxle, routing variation in the high pressure power steering hose could allow contact with the automatic transaxle differential cover, potentially damaging the hose. Subsequent fluid leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in an under-hood fire. Correction: Dealers will inspect and relocate, or replace as necessary, the power steering hose and confirm torque of the hose fastener at the steering gear end.

On certain vehicles, the fuel supply line may contact the air conditioning tube service port. This could potentially cause a rub-though condition and a subsequent fuel leak, that could possibly result in a vehicle fire. Correction: Dealers will inspect the fuel line for abrasion and to install a clip to ensure isolation. In cases with evidence of fuel line abrasion, the fuel line will be replaced.

Certain sport utility vehicles are being recalled for a software error in the instrument cluster microprocessor. Under certain conditions, the cluster, with the majority of its gauges, illumination, and warning lamps, could become inoperative. Driving the vehicle with an inoperative cluster could cause a distraction, increasing the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will re-flash the cluster software to correct the condition .
